Fire Today - No Painting!
I thought that I would post some photos. this is what is happening right outside my door, as I look across the street. The fire came dangerously close yesterday. As long as the wind doesn't turn, we are safe. We live the next street over from the staging area. Lots of trailers go by with horses in them. They look scared.
So, have I given up on painting, because of the fire! No! I found a bunch of clunker paintings that I've painted in the past. What I've decided to do is ask myself, "What's wrong with this painting?" Is it a value problem? Color Problem? Then I try to fix it.
We just got the weather report. The wind has changed for the worse! So, we will be staying indoors today. It looks like clouds, but brown clouds out there. Don't worry though! I have lots of stinker paintings I can work on:)
Live, love and paint,
Terry
Current Events:
Thursday Night at RAM - Thursday, Sept. 3rd from 6 to 9 - I want to see the Watercolor West show, and they are having an Artist Reception for About Face
This Sunday - Loma Linda Art Assn - Guest Demoer will be Chick Curtis. Yeah. Chick is such a fantastic demoer. I don't even care if he doesn't work in watercolor. I can forgive him for that. For info about LLCAA, contact Lois Ritter, (909) 799-8002
A NEW Social art club looks pretty promising, and growing. It is "A Collective Art Journal". check it out. The person that started this group is Maree. She is extremely interesting and knowledgeable, and resides in South Africa.
Locally - I've met Artist Mike Nichols. He is a Riverside artist. I love his acrylics of dogs. If you would like to take a gander at some REALLY Cool local artwork, just click through.
Don't forget about Painting the Zanja! That art show is going to be here before you know it. Ginger is doing a GREAT job blogging and getting the publicity ball rolling.
Now, if you would like to know more about the Redlands Conservancy and the Zanja. . . Well, you know the drill. Just click through!
Anyhow, have a GREAT week. Hope to see you at RAM this Thursday evening.
Live, love and paint,
Terry
