Terry's Mobile Art Studio
I decided to take my beat up old van and recondition it.  Why, you ask.  Because I would love to go out and paint on location, in the middle of nowhere, but sometimes that is just not the safe thing to do.  I would feel better being inconspicuous, painting from the inside of my van.

The interior is large enough for me to stand up in, and it has this huge bay window that gives me great visibility.  Think of it, if it rains, I can still paint, mosquitoes are out, I can still paint.

And yes, I am still going to paint outdoors, too.  This is just for when I am out in the middle of nowhere, and no one is around to help me.

Did you know that the little town one over has plenty of bobcat and cougar sitings.  Even though I'm just a tasty morsel, and not a complete meal for these beautiful animals, I don't want to tempt them!

Live, love and paint,

Terry

I HATE CRACKLE!
One of the first things that I'm doing is refinishing most of the interior wood.  Tons of cracked varnish had to come off, before fresh varnish could be put on.  Stripping all 43 pieces down to bare wood has taken me about a month, but it was well worth it!

This step was completely necessary in my case.  During art college, the ONLY assignment that I failed was "Aesthetics Are Secondary".  Yes, I understand.  It means that it is more important to go out and paint, that what the inside of the van looks like.  But I failed that assignment miserably.  Sorry Professor Nick:(

Live, love and paint,

Terry
